Mark joined the Teamsters in 1979 as a member employed by Anheuser-Busch and was hired by Teamsters Local 284 as a Business Agent in 1990.

For six years, he negotiated and administrated contracts at the national, state and local levels, representing members working in Brewery and Soft Drink, Bakery, Transportation-Distribution and Ohio Public Sector Contracts.

He was appointed Recording Secretary of Local 284 in 1993. He was a Union Trustee for The Anheuser-Busch/Teamster Local Union No. 284 Pension Plan and served as a Shop Steward after returning to Anheuser-Busch in 1996.

Elected Local 284 President in 2016, Mark is currently the Principal Executive Officer of the Union and serves as Business Agent for members in the Airline and Manufacturing Divisions.

Joe joined the Teamsters in 1989 as an employee of Anheuser-Busch. He was a Union Steward in the brewing department for many years and was a member of the negotiating committee for the 2014 AB contract.

He was a Pension Trustee on the Anheuser-Busch/Teamsters Local 284 Pension Plan for five years and worked as a member of a DRIVE campaign.

Elected Secretary-Treasurer of Local 284 in 2016, Joe oversees and reports on the financial transactions of the Union and serves as a Business Agent for members working in Brewing, Manufacturing and Public services divisions. He is also a trustee on the Brewery Conference/Anheuser-Busch Defined Benefit Pension Plan.

Brian joined the Teamsters in 2004 as a member employed by T Marzetti Co. He served as a shop steward and on the negotiating committee for the 2017 Marzetti Contract.

Elected as a Local 284 Trustee in 2016, Brian was then appointed as Recording Secretary in January 2019. He also serves as a Business Agent for members working in Food Processing, Manufacturing, Warehousing and the Public Services Divisions.

Josh joined the Teamsters in 1997 as a member employed by Columbus Distributing Company.

Elected as a Local 284 Trustee in 2016, Josh served as a Shop Steward and was a member of the Local 284 Executive Board. He was then appointed as a Business Agent in February 2019, administrating Contracts for members working in the Bakery, Brewery, Warehousing, Distribution and Construction trades.

BJ Wilson

BJ joined the Teamsters in 1999 as a member employed by Akzo Nobel Coatings Inc. Elected as a Local 284 Trustee in 2016, BJ serves on the Local 284 Executive Board and as a shop Steward at Akzo Nobel.

Fred Price

Fred joined the Teamsters in 1989 as a member employed by NetJets as an Avionics Technician. He has served on five contract negotiations dating back to 1992. He was also a Systems Board of Adjustment Grievance Panel member from 1996-2000.

Fred served as a Steward from 1994-2005 and 2016 to present. Appointed as a Local 284 Trustee in March 2019, he is also a member of the Local 284 Executive Board.

Bill Merdeath

Bill joined the Teamsters in 1985 as a member employed by Western Kraft Corp. (now International Paper). After six years as an employee of Western Kraft, Bill was hired by the Anheuser-Busch Brewery in Columbus.

He served as a Union Steward beginning in 2000, first as an alternate and currently a Shop Steward in the Brewing Department. He was a member of the most recent negotiating committee for the current AB Plant Agreement that passed by a membership vote of 89.5%.

Appointed as a Local 284 Trustee in April 2019, Bill is also a member of the Local 284 Executive Board.

Dawn joined the Teamsters in 2008 as a member employed by Local 284 as a Titan Operator. Currently as Office Manager, she oversees and coordinates all of the office administrative activities, including managing databases and communications.

Chad Angel

Chad’s spirit was intense and passionate when representing his members. Local 284 feels a tremendous personal loss for its Brothers and Sisters, and recognizes that everyone Chad worked with will bear a heavy burden, as they struggle with his passing.

Chad’s compassion and warmth will stay in our hearts as we try to carry on his work. It should be remembered that Chad had just concluded bargaining a contract for the members of Coca-Cola where he worked for many years. True to form, Chad gave those negotiations everything he had.
